Monarch School’s inaugural Metamorphosis Art Exhibition

The Monarch Metamorphosis Art Exhibition will celebrate local artists and their stories of change, growth and resilience. Throughout a three-day salon series, Monarch’s Chrysalis Center for the Arts will showcase paintings, photography, fiber arts, and sculptures that represent self-growth and determination of our students. Alongside these students' works, local artists were invited to share their ideas and personal narratives through art. Monarch students and local artists also worked together to create beautiful collaborative works of art. Works created for the exhibition will be on view on May 11th, and will be auctioned May 12th and 13th.
Monarch School Project invited community artists to collaborate on the Monarch Metamorphosis Art Exhibition at the Chrysalis Center for the Arts, opening in May 2022. Artists collaborated with Monarch by: 1) leading workshops for 3rd-12th grade students, 2) teaching and collaborating with students on an artwork, or 3) created and donated a work of art to be auctioned off during the exhibition. All proceeds benefit Monarch’s Creative Youth Development Programs.
Monarch School encourages artists with diverse backgrounds, bilingual artists, BIPOC artists, and LGBTQIA+ artists to collaborate on this exciting and unique exhibition.
Invited community artists, Monarch School 3-12 grade educators and Monarch staff are encouraged to submit related artwork and student work through this website for consideration.
Monarch art educators may submit up to 20 student works per workshop.
Community artists and Monarch Staff may submit up to 3 artworks.
All submitted work should not exceed the following dimensions:

Complete entries may include up to three digital images or audio files of each work (jpeg, png, mp4, mov, mp3, and pdf files will be accepted).
Registered users may upload a submission, log out, and log back in to edit submissions anytime before submissions close
Submittors will be notified by email of works accepted on April 22, 2022.
Artwork Drop-Off Days: Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Chrysalis Center for the Arts
